Wecome to our Frequently Asked Questions Page. We hope you will find the answer to our most common questions.
Q: How is your dipping process compared to the process used by Firearm and Archery manufacturing companies?
A: The process we use is exactly the same process. The significant difference between Liqua-Dip Graphics from such companies is that manufacturers use mass production machines to produce high volume decorated products where we static (hand process) each individual piece and inspect them thoroughly. We perform any necessary touch ups to produce the best possible decorated product.
Q: Is the finished product durable and how does it compare to factory decorated items?
A: Yes. Our process is the same used by major manufactures such as Bowtech, Mathews, Remington, Ford or General Motors. The difference is that we dip most items one at a time. This gives your item special attention to eliminate potential defects or flaws in the print. We use only automotive grade finishes to provide protection from weather, fading, and corrosion during everyday use.
Q: What type of items can be dipped / decorated?
A: Many items can be processed with a wide variety of flat or 3 dimensional shapes. Many items made of plastics, metals, woods, ceramics, and glass can be printed. Rule of Thumb: If it is made of a rigid surface and will fit into our processing tank it can most likely be decorated. Examples of items capable of decoration : Firearms, Archery and Outdoor Equipment, Hardhats, Automotive Accessories, Hair Dryers, Motorcycle Parts, Radio Cases, Mailboxes, etc…….
Q: Do I still need to maintain my decorated firearm?
A: Yes and No. You will no longer need to oil your firearms exterior parts that have been printed. Just clean the decorated items with a damp cloth. Maintain your firearms interior the same way you always did.
Q: What is the cost to have an item decorated?
A: Many popular items have preset pricing as you will find on our Pricing Page. Due to the unique complexity of custom work, free estimates are provided on a per job basis. Preparation, complexity, and size are the main determining factors for pricing estimates. Bulk orders are also priced by per item.
Q: Can items that have been previously dipped be redecorated?
A: Yes. Most items can be “re-dipped” without any difficulty.
Q: Can you alter or change the color of a pattern?
A: Yes and No. Many patterns are neutral based so you can obtain a wide variety of different looks by changing the base colors. Some branded camouflage patterns have approved base coat requirements due to licensing agreements.
Q: What is turn around time to get my item decorated and returned?
A: Turn around time varies, but is usually 3-4 weeks from the time we receive it to when we ship it back to you. Please contact us for a more accurate time quote. We highly recommend you plan your firearm / archery decorating needs with ample turn around time before hunting season.
Q: Do I need to disassemble items before I send them?
A: Yes. All items to be decorated need to be completely disassembled and cleaned before bringing or shipping them to us. Only send items to be decorated. Liqua-Dip Graphics does not disassemble or reassemble firearms or archery equipment due to liability risks. Please have an expert do this for you if you are unsure.
Q: What is double dipping?
A: Double dipping is just how it sounds. Some products require us to dip one side at a time due to the complexity of the part. Example of this is most of the newer style bow risers that have several "holes" throughout the riser, which causes the film to "break" when wrapping into the holes. We just dip the sides separately to get the best possible print. All skulls are Double Dipped to the best possible coverage and great finished product.
Q: How much is shipping and how should I ship my items?
A: Shipping is easy to figure out. What you pay to get it to us, is what we will charge you to send it back. Unless you request expedited shipping (i.e. 3 day air instead of ground) we will charge the same cost that you paid initially. We will insure items as necessary. Please let us know how much insurance is required. We recommend that you ship your items through UPS, FEDEX, or U.S. Postal Service.
Q: What about Realtree or Mossy Oak patterns?
A: We do not carry Realtree or Mossy Oak camouflages due to the high cost in obtaining these patterns. We choose to keep our prices affordable and use Royalty free patterns instead. All Licensed films (like Next Camo, Toad-A-Flage, Kings Camo, Vanish, Mothwing, etc.) will be treated as Royalty-free to all non OEM customers. OEM customers must obtain licensing agreement with manufacture of Licensed Camouflages.
Q: Do you stand behind / warranty your work?
A: Yes. We have a 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee! If you are not completely satisfied with your newly decorated product, we will re-dip it free of charge in any stock pattern or color.
